In a typical year, I give roughly 50 speeches/talks across the country – most of which are pro-bono guest lectures in university classrooms.
Well…2020 is not going to be a typical year.
Thankfully, a number of schools have invited me to Zoom with their students. This past week, I had the great pleasure to talk with students, faculty, and administrators in the Albers School of Business at Seattle University. I focused my brief comments on resilience – and what it takes for each of us to find a path through to the other side of the difficulties we are now facing. Hopefully, my thoughts on faith, perseverance, and serendipity were helpful to those that joined us. I am particularly sensitive to the challenges of students who have been displaced and who face a future that is dramatically less certain than it was even a few months ago. I know they will find great opportunity on the other side of this – but that is not always obvious in the center of the storm.
